Malted Shake Special: Burgess Boogie!!!

For two nights only – Friday 21 and Saturday 22 April – Malted Shake proudly presents Burgess Boogie!!!, an all-star tribute to rockabilly legend Sonny Burgess.

Born in Arkansas, Sonny Burgess started his recording career at Sun Records, where he cut a string of classics – Red Headed Woman, We Wanna Boogie, My Bucket’s Got A Hole In It, Ain’t Got A Thing, and Thunderbird. Nobody played with more fire or energy and Burgess came roaring back to the rockin’ scene in the 1980s and ‘90s before he was inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall Of Fame in 1999.

Stepping up to the challenge of playing Sonny’s red-hot repertoire, Malted Shake is delighted to introduce The Moonlighters. This raucous sextet is ready to blow the roof off and boasts David Short on lead vocals and guitar alongside his Rhythm River Trio bandmate Bruno Pannone on upright bass. The Deltas’ Pat Panioty will be firing up the lead guitar, joined by Titch Walker on trumpet, Ricky McCann behind the drums, and Tom La Velle at the piano.
