Castro’s Barbershop is the culmination of more than 60 years of combined experience in barbering, styling, fashion, retail and business. We took all of the things we loved, vintage style, music and above and beyond customer service to create a stylish, welcoming and very cool space where you can get a superlative haircut, buy a unique t shirt, drink bespoke cocktails and listen to great music all at the same time!

Master Barber

Leo Castro, is a master barber who has been cutting hair for more than three decades. Hailing from Barcelona, he also managed to find the time to run a very successful fashion business as well as being a stylist and Coolhunter. In addition, he is known for being a music collector, specialising in American Roots music. Because of his expertise in this area, he ran a very successful weekly radio show called El Ritual Nocturno in BCN and is also known for creating many Roots Music compilations and stellar playlists.

Aisha Khan has extensive retail leadership, customer service and business experience, which has helped to make Castro’s more than just a barbershop. In addition, she has been performing as a singer of American Roots music since the 1980’s and brings events, collaborations and innovation to the space from Vintage burlesque and live music events to Cocktail making masterclasses.

The shop is located upstairs in an atmospheric Victorian railway arch in the heart of buzzing Maltby Street market, a go to destination for people who love great street food, wine and craft beers. With a black & white chequerboard floor and the name of all our favourite record labels hand painted on the walls, it’s a one off experience.
