THE PHILIP RAMBOW TRIO
PHILIP RAMBOW on lead vocals and acoustic guitar. Martin Belmont on electric guitar and Clare Kenny on bass and vocals will be joined by Jim Russell on drums. Featuring songs from Phil’s current album “Canadiana” and his previous album ‘Whatever Happened to Philip Rambow’ plus some choice rockabilly and country covers.
Canadian by birth but a British resident since the 70’s Phil’s first band of note was The Winkies. Later working as a solo singer/songwriter Phil made records and gigged with Mick Ronson and Kirsty Macoll among others.
MARTIN BELMONT is an English legend. Starting in the Pub Rock era with Ducks Deluxe he then became a stalwart with Graham Parker and the Rumour. A whole life making music with legends: Carlene Carter, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Johnny Cash, Billy Bragg, Hank Wangford, Los Pistoleros. Carl Perkins, Bob Collum, Desmond Decker and Graham Parker (again).
CLARE KENNY is a British musician who was a bassist for a number of groups from the 1980s to the present day, including: Amazulu, Shakespears Sister, Orange Juice, Coming up Roses, Indigo Girls, Sinéad O’Connor, Damien Dempsey, Andrea Corr, Hank Wangford, Edwyn Collins, Aztec Camera, Roddy Frame and Brian Eno.
Jim Russell is a drummer who has worked with Bob Geldof, Scotty Moore, Los Pistoleros, The Inmates, Ducks Deluxe, Graham Parker and Los Pacaminos
